Films4Lives Competition 2005
The first year of the Films4Lives competition in 2005 was hosted by the Showcomotion film festival for children and young people, (the biggest children’s film festival in the UK), which generously adopted this initiative. Following the spirit of the host festival, the Films4Lives jury consisted of young people from Cube magazine, NSPCC young people’s centre and Connexions South Yorkshire.
Tremendous support for the production and promotion of this event came from the Regional Fundraising Manager of UNICEF UK, Louis Coles who first provided the Films4Lives competition with the internationally respected title of the UNICEF UK awards.
Other substantial support came from Sheffield Independent Film, which provided Films4Lives with both equipment and studio location. Also AVID, Shepperton and Pinewood Studios and The National Museum of Photography Film and Television who donated prizes for competition winners
Gorilla Cinema Ltd provided resources, personnel and voluntary work over the period of a year.
We sincerely wish to thank all the filmmakers around the world for their contributions. We hope to have the pleasure of receiving more work from them in years to come.
